Radiation Detection, Monitoring & Spectrometry

Advanced radiation detection, monitoring and spectrometry technologies for radiation protection, nuclear medicine, environmental surveillance, emergency response, internal contamination assessment, radioactive-waste monitoring, and liquid/gaseous effluent control.

Overview

ELSE NUCLEAR designs and manufactures advanced radiation detection, environmental monitoring, spectrometry, radiation-protection, contamination-monitoring, in-vivo counting, radioactive-waste characterization, and emergency-response systems. Its technologies are used in hospitals, nuclear medicine facilities, research centres, particle accelerators, nuclear installations, environmental-monitoring networks, industry, and government applications. The company provides both standard products and customized systems, with support covering engineering, installation, training, and long-term service.

NAUSICAA & MERCURY - Gamma Radiation Monitoring
Fixed gamma-monitoring systems for area and environmental radiation surveillance. NAUSICAA uses ion-chamber technology for wide-range gamma monitoring, including configurations for pulsed radiation fields, while GM-1 and MERCURY use energy-compensated Geiger–Müller detectors for routine and high-range monitoring applications. These systems can be integrated into centralized monitoring networks.

LUPIN BF3 - Pulsed Neutron Radiation Monitoring
A neutron REM counter designed for ambient dose-equivalent H(10) monitoring*, including challenging pulsed neutron fields. This makes it relevant for radiation-protection applications around particle accelerators, research facilities, and other environments where conventional neutron monitors can experience pulse-related limitations.

GSU, SP2 & B-RAD - Gamma and Neutron Spectrometry
ELSE NUCLEAR provides specialized spectrometry systems ranging from NaI(Tl)-based gamma spectroscopy to advanced neutron spectrometry. GSU supports gamma-spectrometric sample analysis; SP2 provides active neutron spectrometry using a single-sphere concept; and B-RAD combines handheld gamma spectroscopy with dose-rate measurement and is designed to operate in magnetic fields up to 3 T.

VEBOS & Lung Counter - In-Vivo Radioactivity Monitoring
Systems designed for whole-body and organ-specific internal contamination assessment. VEBOS performs whole-body scanning using vertically moving detection equipment with HPGe or NaI(Tl) detector configurations, while the Lung Counter is designed for rapid and sensitive radiometric assessment of radioactive material deposited in the lungs.

THYMON & FOOMON - Emergency Radiation Screening
Portable systems designed for rapid deployment during radiological emergencies. THYMON uses a compact NaI(Tl) detector for rapid assessment of I-131 contamination in the thyroid, while FOOMON provides field screening of food samples for radionuclides including I-131, Cs-134, and Cs-137. Both are designed for portable, field-oriented operation.

HERMES Family - Mobile & Field Radiation Monitoring
A rugged family of portable and deployable radiation-monitoring systems for gamma/neutron detection, dose-rate measurement, spectroscopy, environmental sampling, UAV mapping, and emergency response. Configurations include HERMES GSU for sample analysis, HERMES DRONE for airborne radiation mapping, HERMES PPM for temporary pedestrian screening, and HERMES UW for underwater gamma spectroscopy and dose-rate measurements.

MHOS-S & MHOS P15 - Hospital Radioactive Waste Monitoring
Dedicated monitoring systems for healthcare facilities handling radioactive materials. MHOS-S measures gamma contamination in hospital waste contained in bags or small bins, while MHOS P15 automatically screens waste passing through a portal structure. These systems can support nuclear-medicine waste-control and clearance workflows.

WDMS NT-VK & Effluent Monitoring Systems - Radioactive Wastewater and Effluent Control
Systems for collection, measurement, and controlled release of radioactive liquid and gaseous effluents. WDMS NT-VK is specifically intended for radioactive wastewater associated with diagnostic and therapeutic use of radionuclides, while LEM, MISTRAL XM, and NAUSICAA 2IC extend monitoring to liquid effluents, activated air, tritium, noble gases, and related applications.
