Laser Patient Positioning Systems

Precision laser patient-positioning systems for radiotherapy and medical imaging, offering manual, motorized, and CT-room configurations to support accurate, reproducible patient setup and efficient simulation and treatment workflows.

Overview

Cemar Electro develops laser-based patient positioning systems for radiation oncology and medical imaging, with its medical portfolio centered on the MAXX series. The systems provide visible optical references for reproducible patient alignment in treatment and simulation rooms, with manual, motorized, and CT-room configurations available in red or green laser wavelengths. Cemar states that it is ISO 13485:2016 certified and manufactures Class I medical devices in Canada.

The MAXX portfolio ranges from the straightforward manual MAXX-600 platform to the motorized MAXX-700 and the extended-travel MAXX-1100 CT-room system, allowing facilities to select the level of positioning automation appropriate for their radiotherapy or imaging workflow.

MAXX-600 Series - Manual Laser Patient Positioning
A robust manual laser positioning system designed for radiotherapy treatment rooms and simulator environments. The platform provides four-axis manual adjustment, focus control, crosshair rotation, and red or green laser options. It is intended as a straightforward, economical system requiring minimal maintenance.

MAXX-606 - Crosshair Positioning Laser
The crosshair component of the MAXX-600 family, used to project orthogonal reference lines for patient alignment. MAXX-606 units can be installed laterally or overhead to establish room reference planes for patient setup and repositioning around the treatment or simulation isocentre.

MAXX-607 - Sagittal Positioning Laser
A sagittal-line positioning laser designed to complement MAXX-606 crosshair units. It projects a straight sagittal reference line and can be incorporated into multi-laser room configurations for reproducible longitudinal patient alignment during simulation and treatment setup.

MAXX-700 Series - Motorized Patient Positioning System
A motor-driven laser positioning platform featuring automatic four-axis movement, movement and position sensing, precision motor control, and red or green laser options. The system is designed to simplify alignment and routine verification while improving adjustment precision compared with a fully manual system.

MAXX-1100 - CT Room Laser Positioning System
An advanced CT-room positioning system offering ±300 mm laser travel and positioning accuracy specified by the manufacturer at ±0.2 mm. It is available as individual free-standing units or as a complete multi-unit system and supports both red and green laser modules. The large travel range is particularly suited to CT simulation workflows where external reference marks must be positioned relative to the imaging isocentre.

MAXX-1100 CT Desktop Application - Digital Laser Control
A Windows-based control application for operating individual or multiple MAXX-1100 units over Ethernet. It includes a patient data grid, embedded laser controls, DICOM 3.0 interface, and reference-display tools, supporting integration of the CT laser system into digital simulation workflows
